David Bomberg se narodil v Birminghamu roku 1890 a zemřel roku 1957 Londýně. Jeho otcem byl polský emigrant, žili v nuzných poměrech, leč Bomberg se od večerních kurzů malby vypracoval až na Westminster School of Art. Krátce žil v Paříži, kde se setkal s Picassem. Jeho tvorba je kombinací vorticismu, expresionismu a futurusimu s některými lehce kubistickými prvky. Přestože je jedním z nejvýznamnějších vorticistů, nikdy nebyl členem jejich spolku. Byl účasten v první světové válce. Byl malířem a učitelem.

David Bomberg was born in Birmingham in 1890 and died in 1957 in London. His father was a Polish emigrant and they lived in poverty. Bomberg worked way up from evening courses of art to the Westminster School of Art. He lived in Paris for a short period of his life and he met Picasso. His work is a combination of vorticism, expressionism, futurism and cubism. Although he was one of most notable vorticists he has never became a member of theire group. He fought in the Great war. Later he became also a teacher.
