Bohumil Kubišta se narodil roku 1884 ve Vlčkovicích u Hradce Králové a zemřel 1918 léta páně v Praze. Jde o jednoho z vůbec nejvýznamnějších českých umělců. Byl fauvistickým, expresionistickým, kubistickým, futuristickým a později dokonce i surrealistickým malířem, grafikem a uměleckým teoretikem. Byl členem Osmy, měl styky se skupinou Die Brücke a ke sklonku života se stal členem Sursumu. Bohužel, však příliš brzy zesnul na španělskou chřipku.
Bohumil Kubišta was born in 1884 in Vlčkovice u Hradce Králové and died in 1918 in Prague. He was one of the most considerable Czech artists. He was fauvistic, expressionistic, cubistic and later even surrealistic painter, printmaker and theorist of art. He was a member of the Osma Union of Fine Arts and in the end of his life he became a member of the Sursum Union of Fine Arts and he had connections with Die Brücke. Unfortunately he perished with Spanish flu too early.
