Prinzhornova sbírka (The Prinzhorn Collection)

Hans Prinzhorn se narodil roku 1886 v Hemeru a skonal roku 1933 v Mnichově tyfem. Byl německým psychiatrem a teoretikem umění. Působil na psychiatrické klinice v Heidelbergu, kde nasbíral kolem 5000 děl od zhruba 450 pacientů. Jeho snahou bylo dokázat, že duševně choří mají cit pro umění, leč nacisté těchto jeho sbírek využili pro výstavu Entartete Kunst, kde její pomocí označili moderní umění za zvrácenou tvorbu duševně chorých. Ačkoli Prinzhorn sám poklonkoval nastupující ideologii, dožil opuštěn a zavržen.

Hans Prinzhorn was born in 1886 in Hemer and died of typhus in 1933 in Munich. He was a German psychiatrist and art historian. He worked in psychiatric clinic in Heidelberg, where he collected about 5,000 artworks by 450 patients. He wanted to prove that insane people can have art palate, but Nazis used this collection for the exhibition Entratete Kunst,where they declared all modern art to be a work of insane people. He died alone and reprobate although he was not against the new system.
