Oskar Kokoschka se narodil roku 1886 v Pölcharnu a zemřel 1980 l.p. v Montreux. Byl čecho-rakouským malířem, grafikem, dramatikem a básníkem, jehož otec byl Čech. Po ánšlusu Rakouska žil v Československu do roku 1938. Přijal zde české občanství a byl přítelem TGM. Později přijal i britské občanství a dožil ve Švícarsku. Byl představitelem expresionismu.

Oskar Kokoschka was born in 1886 A.D. in Pölcharn and he died in 1980 A.D. In Montreux. He was Czech-Austrian painter, playwright and poet whose father was Czech. After the occupation of Austria, he lived in Prague till 1938 (the occupation of Czech). He accepted Czechoslovak citizenship and he was friend with Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (the first president of Czechoslovakia). Later he accepted also British citizenship but he died in Switzerland. He was one of Viennese expressionists.
