Amédée Ozenfant

Amédée Ozenfant se narodil roku 1886 v Saint-Quentinu a zemřel roku 1966 v Cannes. Byl francouzským malířem a spisovatelem a spoluzakladatelem purismu. S Guillaumem Apollinairem a Maxem Jacobem psali časopis l'Elan, s le Corbusierem, s nímž jsou považováni za nejvýznamnější puristy, později vydávali l'Esprit nouveau. Byl tedy puristou a kubistou. Umění také vyučoval.
Amédée Ozenfant was born in 1886 in Saint-Quentin and died in 1966 in Cannes. He was a French painter and writer and he was a co-founder of Purism. He, Guillaume Apollinaire and Max Jacob wrote a magazine called l'Elan. Later he and le Corbusier (both of them are considered to be the most notable Purists) they started to write a magazine l'Esprit nouveau. He was a Purist and Cubist and he also taught art.

Paul Klee se narodil roku 1879 v Münchenbuchsee (u Bernu) a zemřel roku 1940 v Muraltu-Locarnu. Mimo to, že si přivydělával hrou na housle, byl švýcarským malířem, grafikem, ilustrátorem a přednášejícím na Bauhausu. Byl jedním ze zakladatelů Der Blaue Reiter a věnoval se směsi expresionismu, kubismu, futurismu a surrealismu, podle mě se však jeho osobité dílo dá nejsnáze označit za modernistické. Byl přítelem Pabla Picassa a Wassilye Kandinskyho.

Paul Klee was born in 1879 in Münchenbuchsee (near by Bern) and died in 1940 in Muralto-Locarno. Besides he played on the violin, he was a Swiss painter, graphic designer, illustrator and a lecturer at the Bauhaus. He was one of the founders of Der Blaue Reiter and he attended to blend of Expressionims, Cubism, Futurism and Surrealism, but in my opinion the easiest way of describing his work, is to call it Modernism. He was a friend of Pablo Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky.

Robert-Victor-Félix Delaunay se narodil roku 1885 v Paříži a zemřel roku 1941 v Montpelier. Byl francouzským kubistickým malířem, později se však stal zakladatelem orfismu. Byl členem Der Blaue Reiter. Jeho ženou byla malířka a designérka Sonia Delaunayová a synem jazzman Charles Delaunay.

Marie Laurencin se narodila v Paříži roku 1883 a zemřela tamtéž roku 1956. Byla ženou Guillaumea Apollinaira, leč roku 1920 se rozvedli. Zpřátelila se s Georgesem Braquem, Pablem Paccasem, Juanem Grisem a Robertem Delaunayem. Je řazena mezi kubisty, ačkoli většinu její tvorby tvoří modernistická osobitá díla, ovlivněná japonským uměním. Byla francouzskou malířkou, ilustrátorkou, grafičkou a básnířkou.
Marie Laurencin was born in Paris in 1883 and died in 1956 at the same place. She was a wife of Guillaume Apollinair, but in 1920 they divorced. She was a friend of Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris and Robert Delaunay. She is ranked as a cubist, although most of her works are in modernistic individual style influenced by Japanese art. She was a French paintress, printmaker, illustrator and poetess.

S.V.U. Mánes

Spolek výtvarných umělců Mánes byl založen roku 1887 jako pokračovatel spolku Škréta. Měl tedy sdružovat umělce a architekty (bez ohledu na původ), besedovat o československém a evropském umění, vydávat časopis Volné směry a jiné publikace a pořádat výstavy současného umění.
Spolek nese jméno malíře Josefa Mánese a jeho prvním předsedou byl rovněž malíř Mikoláš Aleš. Díky SVU Mánes se v Čechách velmi projevoval impresionismus, secese a kubismus. Vystavovali zde Auguste Rodin, Alfons Mucha, Edvard Munch, František Kupka a další.
Budovu postavil člen spolku Otakar Novotný roku 1927 na místě bývalého Šítkovského mlýnu v Praze. Ona vodárna zde stála již před tím.
Vedle Volných směrů se pod vedením malíře Maxe Švabinského začala objevovat i edice ilustrovaných monografií Zlatoroh. Vznikal zde český kubismus (specifický míšením expresionismu fauvismu a kubismu) a rondokubismus, leč po odlivu členů během vlády protektorátu následovala ještě tvrdá represe komunistické vlády, jenž vyvrcholila roku 1953, kdy byl spolek násilně rozpuštěn a nahrazen ČFVU (Český fond výtvarného umění), který byl samozřejmě mnohem poslušnější komunistické vládě.
Činnost byla obnovena až roku 1989, bohužel však ČFVU revoluci přežilo a nyní funguje pod názvem ČFU stále v prostorách SVU Mánesu. Mánes tedy zakoupil prostory v pražském domě Diamant. Svou činnost rozšířil o design, scénografii, fotografii a experimentální výtvarnictví.

The Mánes Association of Fine Artists (SVU Mánes) was established in 1887 as a follower of the Škréta Group. The purpose of the SVU Mánes was putting the artists and architects together (no metter where they were from) to talk about new forms of art publish a journal Volné směry (the Free Currents) and other publications and to exhibite a new forms of art.
The group is named after Josef Mánes (Czech painter) and it's first chairman was Mokoláš Aleš (also Czech painter). Thanks to the SVU Mánes, in Czech plantifully detected Impressionism, Cubism and Art Nouveau. There were the exhibitions of Auguste Rodin, Alfons Mucha, Edvard Munch and František Kupka and many others.
The building of Mánes was built by Otakar Novotný (a member of SVU Mánes) in Prague in 1927 but the water tower was there before.
Besides the Free Currents there was an edition of illustrated monographs Zlatoroh (the Golden-Edge). There were rising Czech Cubism (specific for blending of Expressionism, Fauvism and Cubism) and rondocubism but many of members have gone away during the World War II and after the war there was a hard chicane by new communist goverment and in 1953 the group was disbanded by goverment and replaced by ČFVU (Czech Fund of Fine Art) which was full of communist flunkeys.
The activity was restored in 1989 ("Velvet" revolution, the fall of communists) but the ČFVU survived the revolution and now it's still working with changed name: ČFU (Czech Fund of Art). The building of SVU Mánes pertains to ČFU (the trial hasn't been solved yet) so SVU Mánes bought the Diamond House in Prague and it has also target to design, scenography, photography and experimental works.

Francouzský režisér, malíř, sochař, futurista, průkopník kubismu, zakladatel tubismu, člen Section d'Or Joseph Fernand Henri Léger se narodil roku 1881 v Argentan a zemřel 1955 l.p. v Gif-sur-Yvette. Byl vůdčí osobností francouzské avantgardy a přátelil se s Robertem Delauney, Marcelem Duchampem či Františkem Kupkou. Roku 1924 vytvořil první abstraktní film Ballet Mécanique.
Joseph Fernand Henri Léger was a French filmmaker, painter, sculptor, Futurist, pioneer of Cubism, founder of Tubism and a member of the Section d'Or. He was born in 1881 in Argentan and died in 1955 in Gif-sur-Yvette. He was the leading figure of French avant-garde and he was a friend of Robert Delauney, Marcel Duchamp or František Kupka. In 1924 he created the first abstract movie Ballet Mécanique.
